Featuring Three Inspiring French Natural Wine Producers
Domaine Pierre Weber — Alsace, France
High in the hills of Alsace, Domaine Pierre Weber produces beautifully expressive biodynamic wines from steep limestone slopes. Pierre works entirely without chemical products, using spontaneous fermentation, no filtration, and minimal intervention in the cellar to create wines with remarkable freshness, minerality, and purity.
Domaine La Grapp’A — Jura Valley, France
One of the most exciting young producers coming out of the Jura Valley today, Domaine La Grapp’A farms organically and biodynamically across a small collection of vineyards near Arbois. Their wines are made with minimal intervention and incredible attention to terroir, resulting in energetic, mineral-driven wines that have become highly sought after in the natural wine world.
Les Cailloux du Paradis — Loire Valley, France
Founded by legendary winemaker Claude Courtois, Les Cailloux du Paradis is considered one of the pioneering estates of the French natural wine movement. The family farms a completely chemical-free 13-hectare property built around biodiversity and self-sufficiency, where vines coexist alongside forests, fruit trees, fields, and animals.
The estate grows over 40 grape varieties including Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Côt (Malbec), Sauvignon Blanc, Romorantin, and Pineau d’Aunis, all harvested by hand and fermented using indigenous yeasts. Today, Claude’s son Etienne continues the family philosophy while bringing a fresh level of precision and energy to the wines.
