Blanco Bungalow ("we", "us") is a small, family-run farmstay near Ericeira, Portugal. This policy explains what personal information we collect through blancobungalow.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at hello@blancobungalow.com.

What we collect

Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, number of guests and anything you write to us when you book a stay, fill in an inquiry or application form (for retreats, weddings, residencies or our trips), subscribe to our newsletter, or email us.

Booking and payment details: when you book, your booking is handled by our reservations system and payments are processed by its payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.

Information collected automatically: like most websites, our site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how visitors use it (analytics), and measure our marketing. This can include your device type, browser, pages visited and approximate location.

How we use it

We use your information to manage your booking and stay, answer your questions, review inquiries and applications, send you our newsletter if you have signed up, improve our website, and meet our legal obligations (for example, tax and guest registration requirements in Portugal).

Our legal bases are: performing a contract with you (your booking), your consent (newsletter and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interest in running and improving our business, and complying with the law.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Blanco Bungalow, such as our website host (Squarespace), our reservations and payments system, our email newsletter provider (Flodesk), tools that connect our forms to those services (Zapier), and analytics and advertising tools (such as Google and Pinterest). If you book through Airbnb, Airbnb's own privacy policy also applies. We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with the Portuguese authorities for guest registration.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, they protect your information with the safeguards required by EU law.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as Portuguese tax and accounting law requires. Inquiries and applications are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or download the personal information we hold about you, object to or limit how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any email. To make a request, email hello@blancobungalow.com. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (cnpd.pt).

Cookies

When you first visit our site you can accept or decline non-essential cookies using our cookie banner. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
