our kitchen is finally finished! it ended up taking just over three months to finish, (only because we had one guy doing all of the work at night, after his day job), but it was all worth it. I absolutely love how it turned out. we built concrete cabinets out of blocks, and poured concrete countertops, and finished it all with white micro cement.

the breakfast nook

The breakfast nook was formerly my office, but I always longed to have the space back to its originally intended purpose. a friend came and built a custom storage bench, and we layered that with a cowhide, sheepskin and pillows.

Our plan was to build cabinetry around the wash tower and refrigerator, but we didn´t exactly get around to that. I had this cute Ikea cabinet from my office, that is now the breakfast nook, so we used that for additional temporary storage.
