WEEK 6: One Room Challenge

BlancoBungalow3.JPG

Alright folks. Here we are at week 6, and I’m having anxiety flashbacks of being in school and having a paper due today, and I haven’t even started it!! Jk Jk, I HAVE started, but am I caught up, and was I ready for today with an impressive progress report, nope! So here’s where I’m at.

After measuring this wall, and going back and forth whether I should do a skinny desk for my hubs to work at, or a storage cabinet to house my printer and other office supplies, I went with the cabinet. The room is already small, and I didn’t want to make it claustrophobic with a bunch of furniture crammed in.

The pandemic though has made it a bit difficult to get pieces. I haven’t been able to go “window shopping”. It’s more like, measure it online, eyeball it, go pick it up, and pray it works.

So after a two and a half hour wait in the curbside pickup line at Ikea, I got this office cabinet, and then the fun of putting it together began:)

It was a little spendy for what I expected from Ikea, or I wanted to pay, but I knew I had to have something for week 6! So thank you everyone for keeping me on track.

And I love it! I have to say, it works perfectly in the space and now I don't have to look at cords, a bulky old printer and all my other junk. Its all tucked away neatly.

I’m pretty much playing the waiting (and procrastinating) game now.

I have some pieces on their way, that I’m super excited about, like a custom acrylic calendar from GIRL FRIDAY HOME, a Rug from RUGS USA and a Peg Board for my Jewelry Making Tools. But per my usual style, this will all come together at the very. last. minute.

I must say thought, that I’m very grateful for the accountability this platform is giving me. Otherwise, I would probably go another year with an uninspiring office. Blah!
