Blanco Bungalow Kitchen Reno: Week 9, More and More Microcement…

Blanco Bungalow Kitchen Reno: Week 9, More and More Microcement…

It’s week 9 of our Spanish Bungalow Kitchen Renovation!

It’s literally like watching paint dry, or microcement that is.

It really doesn’t seem like there’s much going on this week, just more and more layers of microcement and sanding.

One of my biggest pet peeves about the old kitchen was the gas line behind the stove. It stuck out about 6 inches from the wall, so the stove was never flush with the wall.

We replaced the valve and were able to recess it back into the wall, and I can’t tell you how happy this makes me!

The cement cabinets are making me so happy! The floors are coming together, the walls…

I settled on the Aksel Alder wood floating shelves, and submitted my measurements. Here are the specific measurements:

Aksel Alder Floating Shelf (Shelf Thickness: 1.75", Shelf Depth: 12", Shelf Finish: Unfinished, Wall Anchor: Drywall)

We chose to order them unfinished to save money, and once they arrive, I’ll apply a natural stain for protection.

We’re playing the waiting game on those now.

The laundry room is now getting microcement walls and floors.

We opted not to remove the wash tower so I can at least do laundry during the reno, so we’ve had to microcement underneath, let it dry, sand, then move them over and repeat.

And working on this hilarious window sich.

But I have to say, I’m loving the way everything is looking!
